Austin's pickleball game is about to get a serious level up. The ever-growing Austin Pickle Ranch is prepping to serve up their second location to North Austin, slated to open doors in May. A sprawling 50,000-square-foot facility will house 16 indoor courts on Braker Lane, making it one of the biggest indoor pickleball arenas in the Lone Star State.
Think heatwaves and pickleball don't mix? Think again. "We are excited to introduce a brand-new, top-tier indoor pickleball facility to the dynamic North Austin community," Tim Klitch, founder and chief fun officer at Austin Pickle Ranch, told CBS Austin. The venue is designed to provide respite from that scorching Texas sun while offering a space for aficionados and newbies alike to swing their paddles in blissful, air-conditioned comfort.
What's more, the Ranch ropes in a couple of pickleball pros, brothers Ben and Collin Johns. These hotshots, considered one of the top men's doubles duos in the sport, have lent their expertise through Johns Design & Consulting for a court your moves will thank you for. "We have no doubt that the addition of a high-quality indoor venue with 16 courts will ensure Austin remains a one of the premier pickleball cities in America," Collin pompously pronounced in a press release cited by the Austin American Statesman.
But it's not just about the courts. This second Austin Pickle Ranch spot will be decked out with indoor and outdoor lounges, and some grub and drinks to fuel your forehands and backhands. Pre-sale memberships are already up for grabs with options for every level of commitment, ranging from the casual $49 Range Rider to the $149 Trailboss for the serious slammers. As for location, look no further than 11000 N. IH-35, Building B, where the doors will swing open regularly from 8 a.m. sharp till the late evening hours, a whole seven days a week.
