Carrollton's Paws on the Square Returns for 8th Year with Pet-Friendly Fun and Free City Pet RegistrationSource: City of Carrollton, Texas

Historic Downtown Carrollton is gearing up for a day full of fur-fueled fun with the eighth annual Paws on the Square event on Saturday, June 8. From 9 a.m. to noon, this family-friendly shindig isn't just for the two-legged – your four-legged buddies are the guests of honor.

According to the City of Carrollton, Texas, attendees can enjoy a smorgasbord of activities showcasing the bond between humans and their pets – think free caricatures, professional pet photos, and light pet grooming. If the charm of Downtown Carrollton, with its slew of eateries and shops, wasn't enough, pet-friendly vendors would be peddling everything from snacks to swanky pet gear.

For those local to the area, there's the added perk of free City pet registration, provided you've got your furry friend's rabies vaccination proof in tow. The Texas Coalition for Animal Protection is also slated to offer budget-friendly rabies shots and microchipping services, to keep tails wagging and pet parents worry-free.

"Those looking to create lasting memories with their pets should definitely come out," Travis Caperton, Carrollton Animal Services Manager said, as per the City of Carrollton, Texas. Carrollton Animal Services will be on-site, ready to chat about adoptions, and volunteer opportunities, and to gratefully accept donations, whether monetary or material.

For the safety and enjoyment of all, a few ground rules: make sure Spot's sporting his ID tags and on a leash. And yes, little Fido needs to have his rabies vaccination or be lined up to get jabbed at the event. Everyone under 18 must team up with an adult sidekick to join in on the fun.

Still spots open for anyone looking to sponsor this year's Paws on the Square. With Texans Credit Union leading the pack of sponsors, the event continues to pull hordes of animal enthusiasts to Carrollton, proving it's the place to be for humans and hounds alike.
