Carrollton is calling on its citizens to weigh in on its Downtown expansion plans, eyeing economic growth and enhanced connectivity around the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Green Line Light Rail. In efforts that reflect Carrollton's historic charm and ongoing development, the city is hosting two public workshops aimed at gathering valuable local insight.

The City of Carrollton is eager to incorporate feedback directly from the people who call it home as it continues to reinforce its status as a destination for families and businesses alike, the centerpiece of this initiative is the expansion of its Downtown Master Plan which is targeting the development along Main Street, the Square, and the stretch of Belt Line Road, this expansion not only looks at economic growth but also at creating a sustainable and vibrant community hub. According to the City of Carrollton, Texas, the workshops are scheduled for Monday, April 29, and Wednesday, June 12 at the Carrollton Fire Rescue Administration building.

Residents and local business owners are particularly encouraged to participate in these workshops, which serve as a platform for their ideas and aspirations concerning the city's future landscape; the first workshop's feedback will be critical for discussions and developments in the second it is an important occasion for residents to take an active role in the direction of their city's expansion. The targeted area for development extends east and west of the DART Green Line Light Rail and includes key corridors between Crosby Road and Capital Parkway on the west, and east to Erie and Myers Streets and Parkside Drive, the plan also encompasses the Hutton Branch of the Elm Fork Trinity River and stretches along Belt Line Road from Hutton Drive to Josey Lane.
