Chicago Man Charged With Felony Robbery and Vehicle Offenses, Linked to Recent Crime SpreeSource: Chicago Police Department

Chicago streets were rattled with chaos as Rigoberto Estremera, 43, of the 2900 block of W. Polk, faced multiple felony charges for armed robbery and vehicle-related offenses. According to the Chicago Police Department's charge release, Estremera has been charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, as well as charges of possessing and selling a stolen vehicle and vehicular hijacking. The detention hearing is to be chalked up at the courthouse located at 2600 S. California, today, April 27, 2024.

The apprehension of Estremera occurred on April 25, at 11:37 P.M., when police swooped in at the 700 block of N. Drake. Rigoberto was pinpointed as the individual who earlier that day brazenly represented to brandish a weapon and unlawfully claimed ownership of possessions from a 25-year-old man inside a commercial establishment on the 1500 block of N. Cicero. Efforts to rightfully restore peace did not stop there. Estremera was also linked to a previous aggravated robbery that transpired on April 24, targeting another 25-year-old man in the 2500 block of W. North Ave.

The culmination of his spree of terror was evidenced by the discovery of a stolen vehicle in his possession, a vehicle that had been reported missing from the 1300 block of W. Monroe. The nefarious narrative unfolded across multiple districts, with Estremera leaving a trail of audacity through the 14th and 25th. Once cornered by the law, charges were promptly distributed, sealing his fate behind bars.

With the suspect presently detained, authorities remain tight-lipped, divulging no further details on the case's progression.
