Minnesota's highways are set to be patrolled by a new chief, as Interim Col. Christina Bogojevic is tapped to become the next colonel of the Minnesota State Patrol. With a career spanning over 20 years, Bogojevic's appointment was announced by the Department of Public Safety Commissioner Bob Jacobson, according to an official state announcement.
"Interim Col. Bogojevic brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and dedication, not only to the organization but to law enforcement as a whole," Jacobson said. Tasked now to lead, Bogojevic looks to cement her commitment to Minnesota's safety and the familial bond she has woven into the fabric of the force. "She embodies the State Patrol's core values and cares deeply for the people with whom she works with and serves. I am confident she will continue to make a positive impact within the State Patrol and communities across our state," Jacobson told the press.
Bogojevic's tenure in the State Patrol has been marked by a series of leadership roles. She took the helm of the Rochester district as captain and then went on to serve as the mobile response commander. Her resume also lists titles such as lieutenant in the Commercial Vehicle section, investigator, recruiter, and crash reconstruction specialist, evidencing a breadth of experience in different State Patrol arenas. This blending of expertise and her stated commitment to service is poised to shape her approach as chief.
"Working for the State Patrol is so much more than a job to me. It's a passion. I care deeply about our people and our mission. I'm honored to have the opportunity to serve as chief," Bogojevic said, expressing her ambition to work tirelessly with team members and allied agencies. She will be taking over the official duties on May 2, following Col. Matt Langer's departure for a position with the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
As she steps into a role that speaks to both the fulfillment of her vocation and a larger duty to public service, Bogojevic's focus includes curbing Minnesota's rising traffic fatality rate and fostering initiatives to recruit and maintain a robust force of troopers. "I look forward to working with Minnesota State Patrol staff and allied agencies who work so hard to keep residents safe on Minnesota roadways," Bogojevic said about her upcoming tenure.
