The search for Briana Winston, a missing Clayton County mother, has taken a dark turn as police now suspect foul play in her disappearance, with her boyfriend and his wife declared as persons of interest. Winston, 23 and a mother to a young child, was reported missing by family members on April 1 after they realized something was amiss when she stopped responding to messages since March 16 and failed to appear for her job the following day, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.

According to 11Alive, the investigation transitioned into a homicide case after evidence surfaced hinting at Winston's untimely demise, her last known whereabouts being the Garden Wood Apartments in College Park where she lived with the father of her child, Michale Edwards, he and Brienna Phillips-Edwards are now faced with questions as they're roped into the investigation, the Clayton County Police swiftly moving to comb through the details that led up to the tragic event.

Winston's grandmother, Ann Thomas, in a statement obtained by FOX 5 Atlanta, expressed her profound desire to have her granddaughter returned, pleading for anyone with information to come forward: "Could you please just come forward and tell us something about her whereabouts and what you had to do with it, so we can find her body or find her and bring her home?"

Edwards and his wife, Phillips-Edwards, are currently in custody and under suspicion, but haven't been charged in Winston's case. Phillips-Edwards was arrested for false statements but released on bond. The police haven't confirmed if these statements are related to Winston's case, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.
