The crash occurred just after 5:30 a.m. when the vehicle smashed into the TaraVista Behavioral Health Center, located on Patton Road in Devens, as reported by Boston 25 News.
Authorities, including firefighters and state police, responded to the fiery scene where the black pickup truck was found lodged into the healthcare facility. Massachusetts State Police believe the driver was to remain still inside the vehicle as it caught fire, a tragic turn of events yet to unravel any further details on the individual's fate, as per NBC Boston.
The crash significantly affected the structure, which houses the administrative offices of the facility. Francis Sauvageau, CEO of TaraVista and MiraVista Behavioral Health Centers, announced in a statement to Boston 25 News that no staff members were hurt and the patients were safe, verifying that "The building is structurally sound and patient care remains ongoing."
Emergency crews, including multiple fire units and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, were quick to swiftly converge on the incident site.
