As reported by the Duncanville Police, "A Light of Hope" will congregate those who have lost loved ones to crimes at Lakeside Park on April 25th at 6 pm. The assembly designed as a part of the National Crime Victims' Rights Week, is aimed to honor lives cut short or scarred by crime, as individuals gather to inscribe water lanterns with messages to the disappeared, thereafter releasing these vessels of remembrance onto the waters with staff assistance, an act symbolic of enduring hope in the face of loss.
