The annual Guns and Hoses – also known as the Battle of the Badges – is stepping up to the plate on April 6, where the brave men and women of the First Responders will go head-to-head in a showdown of skill and sportsmanship. Trinity High School Softball Field sets the stage for this anticipated event, a blend of community spirit and a tribute to those who put their lives on the line every day.
For those looking to catch the action live, the gates open with a $5 entry fee, with all proceeds going towards supporting the valiant efforts of our first responders. Before the main game kicks off, homerun derby enthusiasts can take their shot at glory – $20 gets you 10 swings with the chance to be crowned the derby champion. But, hurry – spots are limited to the first 25 slugger hopefuls, first come, first served, make sure you sign up and pay on-site.
Details about the event were shared via Facebook by the Euless Police Department, rallying the community to come out in full force and root for their favorites. It's not just a promise of a thrilling game, but also an embodiment of camaraderie and the heart that beats strong within our townsfolk.
This spirited tradition not only ignites the competitive fire between the police and firefighters, but it's also an essential avenue for fostering relations and building connections between the community and its guardians. As we stand on the precipice of this yearly clash, let it be known that each swing, each catch, and every cheer resonates far beyond the diamond – it's a vivid reminder of the selfless service embraced by our first responders, and the very core of what brings a town together.
