Fatal Three-Vehicle Accident in Clinton Township Claims Life of Young Driver, Injures TwoSource: Google Street View

A tragic three-vehicle crash on Tuesday morning in Clinton Township resulted in the death of an 18-year-old man and left two other people injured. According to The Detroit News, the collision took place near Groesbeck Highway and Macomb Industrial Drive.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:15 a.m., when police say a white 2013 Chevrolet Impala being driven by the 18-year-old crossed into the center lane and struck a silver 2023 Chevrolet Blazer. As per Patch, the Impala then continued on, colliding with a gray 2016 Chevrolet Silverado being driven by a 49-year-old man. It appears the woman who was merging into the center lane to turn at the intersection was the driver of the Blazer.

The young driver of the Impala was rushed to McLaren Macomb Hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries, as reported by ClickOnDetroit. The 38-year-old woman driving the Blazer was also taken to the hospital, suffering from minor injuries, while the driver of the Silverado received treatment at the scene and was released.

While the aftermath of the crash paints a chaotic picture, police have stated that neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to have been factors in this tragic incident. Still reeling from the chain-reaction of the crash, the individuals involved were caught in a flurry of motion, turning an ordinary morning commute into a scene of devastation and loss. The Clinton Township police continue their investigation and have asked anyone with information to call 586-493-7802.
