In Sumner County, a high school senior's achievements have ascended to notable altitudes. Addison DeWitt, a teenager from Gallatin, has secured a private pilot license, becoming the first student to do so through her school's aviation program, WKRN reports.
The Liberty Creek High School student joined the skies in what marks a significant milestone, only a couple of years after first taking the wheel as a driver. DeWitt, who enrolled in aerospace and aviation classes at her high school, completed her training, at Jet Access where she attended flight classes three times a week, Sumner County Source reveals.
Liberty Creek High School's aviation program has been on the radar for offering high-tech flight simulators, and educating students on the fundamentals of aviation and aerospace. This hands-on approach from the program has successfully set DeWitt on a trajectory towards soaring skies; and now, with her pilot license in hand, her horizons are ever broadening after high school.
The achievement of DeWitt, according to NewsChannel 5, highlights the community's spirit in celebrating hard work and milestones reached by young individuals. DeWitt's feet might be on the ground, but her aspirations are certainly sky-high as she navigates her future from a pilot's perspective.
