The City of Garland is calling on its residents to voice their opinions on the city's quality of life and municipal services as part of its upcoming strategic planning and budgeting process. By partnering with the National Research Center at Polco, Garland is rolling out its first-ever National Community Survey, a move officials say underscores their commitment to community-driven policymaking.
Garland's Mayor Scott LeMay, in a statement released by the City of Garland, said, "This is an opportunity for everyone in the community to share their thoughts, and shape the future of Garland." Residents can expect to see both printed and digital survey options, available in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. Those who receive a survey invitation should follow the enclosed instructions to complete it.
Aside from soliciting citizen feedback, the survey aims to gauge how the City stacks up against its peers. The results are intended to provide insight into Garland's strong points and areas that need enhancement.
"We strongly encourage all residents to take the survey. The more people who participate, the better data we will have to inform our decisions," LeMay reiterated. Details for the online survey, and a list of pickup locations for the printed copies, are to be announced shortly. Residents looking for more information or having questions have been directed to the City’s Public & Media Relations Department, as per the City of Garland.
Privacy is a key aspect of this survey initiative, with assurances from the City that all responses will be kept anonymous. Once compiled and processed, the outcomes of the survey will be shared openly with the public. Garland's engagement through Polco also provides residents a chance to review the company's privacy policy beforehand, maintaining transparency in the process.
