In a recent crackdown on neighborhood crime, Harris County constables nabbed a duo suspected of a string of vehicle break-ins in the Lakeshore subdivision. Yesterday evening, deputies responded to reports of a suspicious person on the 13400 block of Lake Passage Lane.
When the officers arrived, they reportedly caught two males in the act of rummaging through cars. The suspects were identified as Je Darien DeWayne Curtis and Je' Darrell Curtis, engaging in what appeared to be an organized effort to pilfer from residents' vehicles. A subsequent investigation by law enforcement confirmed that the Curtis pair were involved in multiple burglaries throughout the locality.
"Je' Darrell Curtis and Je Darien Curtis were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Burglary of a Motor Vehicle," stated Constable Mark Herman in an announcement published on the department's official social media. The press release issued indicated that the two men are being held on charges related to the thefts, but as of the release, neither bond nor court dates had been set.
Community members have been on edge with a spate of petty crimes plaguing the tranquil subdivision, but the arrests have brought a sense of relief to the Lakeshore residents. According to a post on Constable Herman's Facebook page, the charges against the Curtis duo reflect the seriousness with which the constable's office is approaching property crime in the area.
