Harris County Constables Nab Two Men, One Accused of Stealing, Both Face Drug Charges After Traffic StopSource: Facebook/Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4

Two men were cuffed last week during a routine traffic stop after one was caught stealing merchandise and the other was found with multiple outstanding warrants. The incident took a turn for the worst when the Harris County Constable's deputies discovered methamphetamine in the driver's possession.

The pair ran into the long arm of the law on April 19, Constable Mark Herman's Office reported a male suspect, later identified as Mark Sidner, having swiped goods from a local business at the 4100 block of Spring Cypress Road before making a getaway. Sidner wasn't on the run for long though, with deputies tracking him down and pulling over the getaway vehicle not too far from the scene of the crime.

During the stop, authorities found the swiped items in Sidner's possession along with the meth. Meanwhile, his passenger, Jose Velasquez, apparently had his legal troubles, as cops discovered multiple open misdemeanor warrants in his name. Constable Mark Herman's Facebook page stated, "Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. Mark Sidner was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. His bond was set at $3,000.000 out of the 262nd District Court. Jose Velasquez was arrested for the open warrants. His bond and court information have not been set at this time."
