Late Sunday night, a woman suffered multiple stab wounds in what authorities are calling a horrific domestic attack. Police have apprehended 26-year-old Angel Gilberto Gonzalez, who has now been charged with aggravated assault on a family member.
According to a press release by the Houston Police Department, officers discovered the 23-year-old victim at 6219 Grosbeak Drive, her face and chest marred by lacerations at around 11:50 p.m. Responding paramedics from the Houston Fire Department rushed her to the hospital, where she is reported to be stable, despite the violence visited upon her.
Gonzalez's arrest follows swift investigative work by HPD's Major Assaults & Family Violence Division, specifically by Detective S. Deroam, who reported that Gonzalez was quickly identified as the suspect. With law enforcement's quick response, Gonzalez was arrested, charged, and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center. Local officials urge anyone with further information to come forward as the investigation continues.
