Houston Man Charged with Murder in North Houston Shooting Death of Ricardo VegaSource: City of Houston

Officials have captured and charged a man in connection to a deadly shooting in north Houston, bringing a grim resolution to a case that rattled the community. Osman Estanly Solorzano Sanchez, 32, is facing murder charges following the killing of Ricardo Vega, 27, who was found lifeless in his car earlier this month.

According to the City of Houston's news release, the victim, identified as Ricardo Vega was pronounced dead at the scene after being discovered by paramedics in the driver’s seat of his vehicle, at approximately 9:50 p.m. on April 15, at 600 West Canino Road. The suspect was initially thought to have gotten away, driving off in what witnesses described as a tan or beige Chevrolet pickup truck.

It wasn't until a week later that law enforcement, through rigorous investigation, zeroed in on Solorzano Sanchez. He was arrested on April 22 by the HPD North Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team. The man was taken into custody without a hitch and hit with charges that accused him of not only taking a life but also attempting to cover his tracks by tampering with evidence.

Details surrounding the motive and the circumstances of the shooting remain unclear. However, HPD Homicide Division Sergeants R. Watson, M. Burrow, C. LaFour, and Detective S. Overstreet are handling the ongoing investigation. In the meantime, Solorzano Sanchez's booking photo has been released.
