Houston Police Arrest Rafel Arredondo for Alleged Murder amid Fatal Stabbing InvestigationSource: City of Houston

A grisly discovery at a Fulton Street business parking lot has led to an arrest in a fatal stabbing case, police say. Rafel Arredondo, 32, is now facing murder charges after a 25-year-old man was found dead Tuesday night outside 2836 Fulton Street, with evidence suggesting multiple stab wounds. According to the City of Houston's news release, Arredondo has been charged in the 228th State District Court, where a booking photo was also released.

Details about the case emerged when HPD Homicide Division Sergeants K. Meek, M. Cass and Detectives S. Overstreet and J. Brown responded to a call concerning a person down at the site, that's when they discovered the lifeless body of the victim and the paramedics pronounced the man deceased at the scene, the cause of death being stab wounds, there were no known witnesses or motive immediately apparent.

The identity of the victim is yet to be officially confirmed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The news of the arrest came after an intensive investigation by local authorities.

Initially, the detectives handling the incident had little to work with, as evidence suggested that an unknown male simply walked away from the parking lot right before the victim was discovered, but diligent efforts led to the identification of Arredondo as the prime suspect after he was arrested on an unrelated charge, and with the coordination of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, he was charged for his alleged involvement in the harrowing event.
