Tragedy struck early morning in Houston as a man was found dead from a gunshot wound at the site of an apparent shooting, authorities have identified the victim. Houston police revealed that the deceased individual uncovered at 7250 Bellfort Avenue around 4:15 a.m. on April 18 is Jimmy Allan Goree, 38, as identified by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, a statement provided by City of Houston News reports.

Responding to a call about a deceased person, police found Goree unresponsive on the ground, near a walking trail where he had suffered at least one gunshot wound, paramedics pronounced him dead, leaving residents in shock and the community grappling with the surge of such brutal acts of violence. This investigation was led by HPD Homicide Division Detectives W. Huff and J. Nguyen, while still in its early stages. Currently, no clear motive has been established, nor have any suspects been identified. The only lead available is an eyewitness account of a red, four-door Ford Probe that was seen hastily leaving the murder scene set against the stillness of predawn.
