JetBlue is adding a Parisian twist to its roster, launching a daily nonstop flight from Boston to the City of Lights. Bostonians can now hop aboard JetBlue's Airbus A321 and touch down in Paris feeling a little more jet-set and a little less jet-lagged, thanks to the overnight crossing.

The inaugural flight took off from Boston Logan International Airport, hitting the skies earlier this week and marking a significant expansion in JetBlue's transatlantic efforts, according to MassLive. "JetBlue has been a great partner to Logan for many years and, we are excited that they are launching Boston - Paris," Massachusetts Port Authority interim CEO Ed Freni said in the statement. The new route isn't the only Euro-centric move for the airline, with services to London, Amsterdam, and a seasonal flight to Dublin already on the docket.

Affordability may well be the watchword, as to celebrate the commencement of the Boston-Paris route, JetBlue has dished out an intro offer with roundtrip fares that won't break the bank. Starting prices of $599 for a standard seat and a high-flying $2,499 for a minty-fresh premium experience enticed U.S.-origin travelers. Their French counterparts are catching a break with rates kicking off at $549 for the cheap seats and $2,199 to lavish in luxury, as reported by Travel Agent Central.

The flight expansion comes after JetBlue's proposed $3.8 billion acquisition of Spirit Airlines smacked into a judicial wall. A Boston federal judge blocked the merger in January, flagging concerns over potential fare hikes and market competition issues. The Department of Justice argued that the deal would have reduced options for flyers by knocking out JetBlue's main ultra-low-cost competitor. The ruling underscored the importance of maintaining a competitive marketplace for the benefit of consumers. In March, an agreement was struck to squash the merger—with JetBlue coughing up $69 million to Spirit, to resolve all outstanding matters, the airline said.
