A 57-year-old woman from Kalamazoo was arrested after she raised a blade and allegedly threatened another passenger on a bus, local authorities said. The incident took place on a Kalamazoo Metro bus on Saturday afternoon at around 2:30 p.m. and was halted on East Main Street near Fenimore Avenue when police arrived in response to a panic alarm activated by the bus driver.
According to WZZM13, the woman was reportedly acting erratically before she decided to suddenly pull out a knife. The alert driver, who triggered the alarm, played a crucial role in swiftly bringing officers to the scene, which resulted in no injuries.
Officials took the woman into custody and confiscated the knife. She is currently lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail and awaits arraignment. Her identity will be released following her court appearance.
