An elderly man in his 80s has become the victim of a lethal hit-and-run incident in White Center, with the King County Sheriff's Office currently on the hunt for the culprit. The tragedy unfolded late Monday night at the intersection of S.W. Roxbury Street and 15th Avenue S.W., prompting emergency calls to 911 just past the hour of 10 p.m.; these included reports of a lifeless man on the roadway and a Good Samaritan's attempt at CPR, but despite these efforts, he died after being rushed to Harborview Medical Center, as stated in a report by FOX 13 Seattle.

Authorities are piecing together the evening's grim sequence of events, probing for answers and reaching out to the community for any eyewitness accounts - with King County Sheriff's Captain Cory Stanton admitting “It’s still an active investigation. We don’t know a whole lot, so we’re looking for any witnesses that may have seen what happened,” a sentiment corroborated by conversations with MyNorthwest. Nearby surveillance footage has revealed a silver Jeep Compass, model years between 2007 and 2016 and sporting evident damage to the front end, which is suspected to be the vehicle responsible for the man's untimely demise. 

With the community's aid, deputies may be able to track down the silver Jeep Compass damaged, as described by Captain Stanton to KOMO News.
