Chaos struck earlier today after lighting is suspected to have sparked a blaze at a Castle Hills apartment complex, leaving a dozen residents without a roof, according to officials. The San Antonio Fire Department sprung into action as flames engulfed the second floor of the building located in the 11800 block of Braesview. Initially, the call reported a lightning strike, which was then followed by claims of an appliance and then a building fire, as reported by KENS 5.
The inferno, deemed to have originated in a utility area, rapidly spread into the attic the firefighters fought the flames both bottom floor apartments were lucky to have been empty at the time of the incident, the upper units weren't so fortunate with two of them now being uninhabitable as a result. A total of four apartments were affected by the fire, displacing around 12 people, as reported FOX San Antonio.
Thankfully, amid the charred remains and the smoke that hung like despair, no residents were injured during the ordeal. The true cause of the fire is still under investigation as officials dig through the ashy remnants to piece together the puzzle of what exactly ignited the frightening sequence of events.
