A 21-year-old man is fighting for his life following what appears to be the latest case of road rage in San Antonio, police said. The victim was shot in the neck while riding in the back seat of a truck earlier today, according to authorities.

San Antonio Police were called to the 4700 block of West Military Drive around 1 a.m after reports of a shooting emerged. Officials believe an altercation broke out between the occupants of two trucks – one of them, a lifted black pickup from where the shots were reportedly fired. According to KENS 5, the incident took place near Old Pearsall Road, although the exact location where the dispute began remains uncertain.

The injured man was taken to an area hospital after being driven to a store on West Military Drive where help was called. While the driver and another passenger of the victim's truck were unharmed, the young man remains in critical condition. Per the initial description provided by police and cited by KSAT, the suspect's vehicle is a black lifted truck, but no further details regarding the shooter have been released.
