Chaos erupted on the northeast side of San Antonio as a man was found dead in a shopping center parking lot, a victim of a daylight shooting, authorities confirmed yesterday. According to KENS 5, first responders rushed to a call for a shooting in progress at approximately 4 p.m. on Perrin Beitel near Nacogdoches Road, where multiple patrol units swarmed the scene.
The deceased, a male believed to be in his 20s, was seated in the driver's seat of a silver sedan in front the nail salon when he was tragically shot. Witnesses described a young man brandishing an unknown weapon who fired several rounds into the vehicle before fleeing in a white sedan. As of now, police say they are on hunt for both the shooter and the accomplice getaway driver. The shopping center was cordoned off as an active investigation ensues.
While information has been sparse, KSAT also covered the incident reporting that the multiple shots were fired into the man's vehicle. Thankfully, no other injuries were reported in what appears to be a swift and targeted attack. Officials have yet to release a description of the suspect, leaving the community on edge as a killer remains at large.
The identity of the victim has not been made public as authorities are likely working to notify next of kin.
