Early Monday morning, a peaceful walk turned violent in Seattle's Magnuson Park when a 64-year-old man was confronted and stabbed by two assailants in an attempted robbery. The attack, which occurred shortly before 7 a.m. near the park bathrooms, prompted a swift response from police and emergency services.

According to the Seattle Police Department's blotter, the victim was grabbed from behind and quickly discovered one suspect to be holding a knife and demanding his cell phone. In the ensuing struggle, he managed to briefly break free but not before being cut on his left forearm.

First responders administered aid at the scene before the man was transported to the University of Washington Medical Center. Thankfully, his injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening. The Seattle Police Department confirmed that officers did recover a knife and other evidence at the scene which could aid in the ongoing investigation led by their Robbery Unit.

Despite the use of aa SPD K9 unit to zealously track the suspects, they were able to initially evade capture. The department has confirmed that the search for the two suspects continues as they remain outstanding. Witnesses or individuals with information are encouraged to come forward to assist in the investigation.
