A man was shot during an alleged robbery gone wrong in Atlanta, police reported. The victim, a 47-year-old male, sustained gunshot wounds on the night of April 20.

Authorities were called to the scene at 248 Trinity Ave SW around 10:34 p.m., following reports of a shooting. The Atlanta Police stated that upon their arrival, they discovered the injured man. He was promptly transferred to the hospital, in stable condition, according to a statement from the Atlanta Police Department.

Current findings suggest that the victim was assaulted while the suspects attempted to rob him. The Atlanta Police Zone 5 officers who responded are now working in conjunction with investigators to sift through details and witnesses' accounts, in an effort to piece together the narrative of the crime.

The investigation continues as detectives actively seek out additional evidence and potential suspects. The police have not yet released any details about the suspects or motive beyond the assertion of a robbery, preliminary information points to what could be a random act of violence. The identity of the wounded man has also not been disclosed, as of this report.
