A man, struck by gunfire multiple times in Houston's Third Ward, managed to pull himself from the wreckage of his silver Jaguar SUV and seek refuge within the walls of a nearby club. The dramatic sequence unfolded just after the stroke of midnight, according to the Houston Police Department.
The shot-up vehicle, which was found abandoned with front-end damage and smeared with the blood of the victim, sat solemnly in the 2400 block of Arbor Street near Emancipation Avenue. This man had to quickly run, albeit wounded, to find help after the violent event. ABC13 reports that the victim sustained multiple injuries, including wounds to the abdomen, leg, and arm.
As the victim sought help at the club, a place of refuge juxtaposed against the night’s terror, Houston police officers swiftly provided first aid and braced his bleeding with a tourniquet. He was later transported to the hospital, where he is said to be in stable condition, fighting the fight of his life. Houston police, meanwhile, are hunting for clues and desperately seeking leads that could point them to an older-model white Cadillac, connected to the shooting as per Fox26 Houston. Shell casings littering the scene speak silently of the violence that occurred.
Lt. J.P. Horelica, in addressing the details of the attack, stated, "The only possible information we have on a possible suspect is an older-model white Cadillac," Eyewitnesses or anyone with information is being urged to come forward. Investigators are meticulously reviewing surveillance cameras in the surrounding area to catch a glimpse, any glimpse, of the assailant. Calls are being encouraged to the HPD Major Assaults Division at (713)308-8800 or Crime Stoppers at (713)222-TIPS.
