An argument over a financial disagreement turned violent in Marietta, leaving one man shot and another under arrest. Marietta Police reported that the shooting incident occurred yesterday afternoon at the intersection of Allgood Road and Cobb Parkway, near a laundry facility.
The confrontation between two men, identified by police as Corey Jones, 31, and Billie Higdon, 71, escalated when Higdon allegedly pulled out a gun and fired, striking Jones in the upper arm. According to WSB-TV, the shooting took place just before 3:30 p.m. at 652 Allgood Road, the location of the Q T Coin Laundry.
Jones was subsequently transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening. Meanwhile, Higdon was taken into custody for questioning by authorities. While charges are yet to be formalized, the Marietta police are considering charges against Higdon. Witnesses told authorities that the two men were acquaintances, and their altercation over money led to the violent outcome.
