Peoria Mayor Jason Beck is set to outline his vision for the city's future in the upcoming State of the City address. The event, scheduled for Wednesday, April 3, will take place at Christ’s Church of the Valley -Peoria on 7007 W. Happy Valley Road, beginning at 6:30 p.m. According to an announcement made by the city, attendees can also look forward to a dinner following Mayor Beck's presentation.
A State of the City video will kick off the program, showcasing Peoria’s achievements from the past year related to the City Council's priorities. These priorities include Public Safety, Water Security, Economic Development, and Education. For residents needing a ride to the event, transportation is available from City Hall starting at 5:45 pm, with return shuttles from CCV Peoria at 8 pm. Peoria Transit is handling the reservations for residents who need a shuttle service.
Mayor Beck's approach involves not just this large public event, but also small-scale "Community Conversation" visits. These are designed for more informal public interactions. According to a news release on Peoria's official website, there are two scheduled meetings after the State of the City address. The first one is on April 8 at the Peoria Community Center and the second one is on April 10 at Westbrook Village-Lakes Ballroom.
