
The Metropolitan Police Department is on the lookout for a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a Southeast D.C. residential building. The incident, described by authorities as a serious criminal offense, occurred in the 1400 block of L Street.
According to MPD's official release, the assault took place on the evening of April 1, around 6:30 p.m. Reports indicate that the assailant used a knife to coerce the victim, forcing her to quickly engage in a nonconsensual sexual act. In the wake of the violence, the suspect rapidly made his escape from the location.
The police are actively seeking assistance from the community to identify and locate the individual responsible for the crime. The MPD's Sexual Assault Unit, which is spearheading the investigation, has yet to release a description of the suspect involved in the harrowing event.
