A tragic collision in Chicago's West Elsdon neighborhood on Sunday night has left a motorcyclist dead, according to Chicago police reports. The accident occurred at approximately 7:18 p.m. in the 5500 block of South Pulaski Road, where a 46-year-old male motorcyclist was struck by a Chevy SUV. The Chicago Sun-Times reported that the SUV was turning left when it collided with the northbound motorcycle.
First responders rushed to the accident site, finding the man severely injured. They quickly transported him to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn to try and save his life. However, despite the best efforts of the medical team, the man ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. WLS noted that no other injuries were reported from the scene of the crash.
The driver of the Chevy SUV has been cited by the police in the aftermath of the incident, although specifics regarding the citation were not immediately disclosed.
