Nashville residents should brace themselves for a mix of unpredictable spring weather over the next week. According to the National Weather Service, showers and a possible thunderstorm are expected today before 3 p.m., followed by a chance of more rain and storms between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Despite the wet forecast, the day might also see some periods of sunshine with highs reaching near 57 degrees and gusty winds that could ramp up to 30 mph.
Tonight, the chance of precipitation drops to a meager 20% with the potential for slight showers and thunderstorms before the clock strikes 2am, then again possibly between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. The temperature is set to dip to around 40 degrees as the winds continue to howl at 15 mph, with gusts pushing up to 25 mph. The local weather outlook doesn’t stop there, as Thursday is slated to have a slight chance of showers from morning until the mid-afternoon.
As Nashville heads into Thursday night, residents should be on the lookout for areas of frost forming after 4 a.m., with lower temperatures edging towards 35 degrees and the West northwest wind calming down slightly. The frost threat lingers into Friday morning, before giving way to partly sunny skies and more manageable highs of about 56 degrees. The pattern of frost continues into early Saturday, preceding what promises to be a sunny day with a peak temperature of 62 degrees.
Looking ahead to Sunday, the weather gears up to make a warmer turn, aiming for a high near 71 degrees. But with warmth comes the risk of scattered showers and thunderstorms, starting after 1 p.m. with a chance coming in at 20%. As the sun sets, those odds jump to 50%, hinting at a moisture-laden start to the week. The chance of shower activity persists into Monday though not enough to dampen the rise in the mercury, which is projected to soar near 75 degrees, followed by a 40% chance of rain and thunderstorms by next Tuesday.
