An early Sunday morning crash claimed the life of one woman and left four others injured in Minneapolis. According to reports by the Minneapolis Police Department, the single-vehicle rollover occurred before 8:30 A.M. near the intersection of Dowling Ave. N and the off-ramp from eastbound Interstate Highway 94.

Emergency responders arriving at the site found a Toyota RAV4, heavily damaged, leaning sideways against a telephone pole. While three women were discovered ejected onto the ground, another was partially thrown through the windshield, and a fifth remained trapped inside the wreck. The officers initiated life-saving measures until Minneapolis firefighters and emergency personnel took over the scene. Two of the female victims, whose injuries were less severe were sent to Hennepin County Medical Center, the remaining three, suffering from life-threatening injuries, were rushed to North Memorial Health Hospital.

The tragedy was confirmed when a 25-year-old passenger succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. The deceased, along with the surviving victims whose ages range from 24 to 28 years, including the 26-year-old driver, have not been publicly identified. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office is tasked with revealing the identity of the deceased while also determining the official cause of death.

Minneapolis police are currently investigating the possibility of intoxication as a contributing factor to the crash. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection to the incident, and, forensic experts from the MPD Forensic Division were dispatched to comb the crash site for evidence. The investigation remains ongoing under GO Number 24-112013.
