Big win for the planet and Patagonia Santa Monica, as the outdoor clothing giant snagged the grand prize at the 28th annual Sustainable Quality Awards, making waves in Santa Monica for their commitment to a greener future, city officials announced today.
The awards, which honor businesses spearheading eco-friendly practices, social responsibility, and economic growth, also celebrated five other local businesses this year, a mix that included Angeles Investment Advisors for their economic prowess; Avocado Green Mattress and HGA, both lauded for their environmental guardianship; Physical Therapyworks got a nod for social responsibility and Yoga-urt scooped up acclaim for their dual role in eco-friendly economic development, the firms were all in the spotlight but it's Patagonia that leads the pack.
It's not just a pat on the back, though; these accolades come from the long-standing partnership between Santa Monica and the green-thumbed non-profit Sustainable Works, who have both tackled the issue of sustainability head-on with this awards program.
The community's invitation to join the celebration at the Annenberg Community Beach House is an open one, with the date set for May 1, from 4:30-7 p.m. The event promises a blend of good food, displays, and quality networking, the festivities kick off with a reception following the 5 p.m. award ceremony; doors crack open at 4:30 p.m., and for those looking to attend, registration is a must.
