The Excellence in Problem Solving category showcased the thoughtful strategies and tactics implemented by Plano's officers, drawing attention to significant contributions made by NPO Team – Shakertin's, Officer Alan Hassan, and the team comprising Officer Jacob Evans, Detective George Johnson, and Mr. Brandon Sailer, among others.

A special Lifesaving Award was presented to Officers Aaron White, Mason Robinson, Alison Renfro, Michael Bogacki, Chris Bush, Ryan Moreland, Jaquay Johnson, Sean White, Jeffrey Jarvi (2), Tyler Gross, and Julia Anderson during quarterly award ceremonies in 2023, each receiving recognition for their crucial, in-the-moment interventions that saved lives. According to the Plano Texas Police Department, these awards solidify the department's resolve and the individual's dedication to serving the public with bravery and quick thinking.
