Pleasant Hill Deadly Shooting Update: Two Arrested in Sacramento, Third Suspect at LargeSource: Google Street View

Arrests have been made in connection with a fatal shooting that rocked Pleasant Hill last month, according to the local police department. On April 18, Joe Washington, Jr., 18, and Money Green, 20, were nabbed in Sacramento for the March 19 incident, which left two dead. The Pleasant Hill Police Department's updated press release states that both suspects are currently booked at Contra Costa County jail.

On the fateful day of the shooting, 63-year-old Peter Popovich, a delivery man for the local legal cannabis industry, was reportedly ambushed in a robbery. In the ensuing gunfight, Popovich and one of the suspects, 21-year-old Trevon Davis from San Pablo, were killed. Hoodline East Bay reports that Popovich was conducting a delivery for Bay Area cannabis distributors when attacked. Despite being permitted to carry a concealed weapon and failing to save his own life, the exchange of gunfire resulted in fatalities on both sides.

While two suspects have been detained, one individual believed to be a part of the fatal robbery has yet to be apprehended. After the shooting, witnesses saw a vehicle speeding away from the scene. However, details on this potential suspect's identity or the getaway vehicle remain slim. As the Pleasant Hill Police continue their investigation, they encourage anyone with information to step forward and contact their Investigations Bureau.

The police were first called to Twinbridge Circle near Longbrook Way last Tuesday, where they discovered both Popovich and Davis critically wounded. After being rushed to John Muir Medical Center, Davis died, joining Popovich as the second casualty. While the police have yet to capture the third suspect, their call for community cooperation suggests they hope that the perpetrator will be brought to justice with public assistance. The Pleasant Hill Police Department asserts the necessity for any witness holding evidence of a video or photographic nature or additional information to get in touch with them to advance the case.
