
Fire crews were called into action as an apartment complex unit ignited on the southwest side, resulting in a section of the roof being consumed by flames early Wednesday, fire officials confirmed.
According to KENS 5, the fire broke out at the 9200 block of Somerset Road at around 10:53 a.m. with responders rushing to the scene. Amid the chaos, a portion of the roof gave in to the blaze and collapsed as officials worked to extinguish the fire.
The scene depicted fire officials on the apartment complex grounds, amidst the blackened debris, battling the fire. They worked diligently to get the situation under control and prevent further spread to neighboring units.
Fortunately, the fire has been reported extinguished with no injuries.
