
In a harrowing chain of events, a man's attempt to evade arrest led to a police chase that culminated with a patrol car crashing into a San Antonio home. Devin Jimenez, 20, is now in custody after the February 11 incident which began with an attempt to pull over his vehicle after officers received reports of a woman bleeding from her face inside, according to FOX San Antonio.
When the authorities signaled Jimenez to stop, he instead fled, engaging the police in a pursuit. His actions led to a collision with a an officer's car, sending the vehicle careening into a nearby home. Jimenez managed to flee on foot after abandoning his vehicle, but was later apprehended thanks to the vehicle's registration details.
No one in the home struck by the police car was injured, but the involved officer wasn't as lucky. Suffering from a head injury and concussion, the officer was swiftly transported to a local hospital for treatment. The current condition of the officer has not been disclosed.
The dangerous sequence triggered by Jimenez's reluctance to stop has now placed him at the center of a serious investigation. Criminal charges are pending as the full consequences of Jimenez's evasion unfold. The woman who was spotted bleeding in the vehicle at the time of the initial police alert has not been publicly identified, nor has further information about her involvement or condition been released.
