The accident occurred at the intersection of Trinity and Woodlawn on the city's West Side. The SAPD officer sustained minor injuries and is under consideration to be possibly taken to an area hospital.
Within the stolen car were two minors, both around 15 years old. The juveniles were detained after claiming that they were not driving the car, suggesting a third individual, who supposedly fled the scene, was at the wheel. Despite their statements, authorities have yet to confirm the presence of this third person. "The other vehicle was reported as stolen and contained two minors, both believed to be roughly 15 years of age," SAPD stated as obtained by KSAT.
The circumstances of the crash continue to be under investigation by the SAPD. Both teens, along with the officer involved, reported sustaining minor injuries due to the collision. A statement from KTSA highlighted the ongoing investigation, with currently the two teenagers as the only suspects.
