
A San Antonio teenager's life came to a tragic end last night when he was shot and killed in a Dollar Tree parking lot on the city's East Side. According to KENS 5, San Antonio Police arrived at the scene near East Houston Street and North New Braunfels Avenue at approximately 11:57 p.m., following reports of a shooting.
Officers reported a disturbance in the parking lot, during which a shot rang out, striking an 18-year-old man in the chest. While emergency medical services worked to save the teen, their efforts proved futile, and he was declared dead at the location of the incident, MYSA reports. Currently, the police have detained several individuals for questioning as the Homicide unit digs deeper into the case.
'There was some type of disturbance in the parking lot at the Dollar Tree,' a police officer said on the scene, hinting at the chaotic moments that led up to the fatal shot being fired. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of his family.
The police are continuing their investigation, holding several people who may shed some light on what transpired in those fatal moments.
