A Brennan High School student is now facing charges after bringing a toy gun to the San Antonio campus, causing alarm among the student body. The incident occurred yesterday morning when the toy, identified as an airsoft gun, was spotted in a vehicle by another student, as reported by KTSA News. Used typically for paintball games, the airsoft gun's appearance prompted a swift response from school officials.

In light of the incident, the student accused of bringing the airsoft gun to school is not only dealing with the legal consequences but also school disciplinary actions, as stated by officials. An immediate hold was placed on the high school out of an "abundance of caution," while law enforcement and the district investigated the situation. This information comes on the heels of a notification sent to parents regarding the turn of events at Brennan High, a letter detailing protocols the school enacted, as FOX San Antonio noted.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The Principal of Brennan High School made efforts to assure parents, sending a comprehensive letter explaining the school's response and assuring the safety of the students.
