The Bexar County Sheriff's Office is on the lookout for Emilio Cordova Mendoza Jr., age 68, who went missing after leaving Christus Santa Rosa Hospital on his own accord. Last seen on April 8, the San Antonio man was brought in by ambulance because of a medical issue, only to depart the hospital grounds sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., according to hospital personnel.
Mendoza is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing around 130 pounds. His medical condition is notably precarious, with multiple conditions that necessitate regular medication, as reported by KSAT News. The concern for his well-being is compounded considering the necessity for these medications.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has issued a call to action for anyone who might have seen Mendoza or has information about his whereabouts. The alert came as something of a plea, urging the community to be vigilant and to report any sightings or information that might lead to his safe return.
Concerned citizens and those who might know anything about Mendoza's disappearance can contact BCSO directly at 210-335-6000 or via email at [email protected]. He was last observed abandoning the hospital on the far West Side, which leaves a wide area of potential whereabouts. KENS 5 News relayed the issued description and the channels through which the public can relay information, underscoring the gravity of Mendoza's sudden disappearance.
The Sheriff's office has not released additional details about Mendoza’s condition at the time he was admitted nor the circumstances that led to his leaving. The search continues as both law enforcement and community members keep hopeful eyes open, bearing in mind Mendoza's vulnerability outside the hospital's care.
