A shooting rampage that began outside a Buckhead appliance store has left one man fighting for his life and the suspect dead from an apparent self-inflicted wound. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the violence unfolded Tuesday afternoon on Piedmont Road when a man was shot multiple times and rushed in critical condition to the hospital.
The Atlanta Police Department swiftly distributed a description of the getaway vehicle, which was later spotted by the Georgia State Patrol and city officers in an industrial part of Southwest Atlanta, near Jonesboro Road and Midway Street. "Witnesses said they saw law enforcement from several agencies trailing the car until everything came to a stop," noted WSB-TV.
Upon approaching the suspect's vehicle, police discovered the individual inside, deceased from what they believe was a gunshot wound to the head, self-administered. The whereabouts leading up to the frantic chase and the motive behind the shooting remain a puzzle pieces that investigators are trying to fit together.
