Thieves executed a highly planned heist, making off with four new vehicles, cash, and dozens of registration plates from a Monroe County car dealership, authorities said Monday. The Dundee Police Department reported that the break-in at the Williams Brothers Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep Dealership occurred before dawn on Saturday. According to The Detroit News, dealership staff found the breach the following day and reached out to law enforcement.

Upon their review of the dealership's security camera footage, the police witnessed five masked individuals breaking a garage door window to access the business around 6 a.m., as stated by WTOL. The suspects then proceeded to systematically break into several safes to obtain vehicle keys, a cache of cash, and numerous Michigan vehicle plates.

The gang is believed to be part of a sophisticated and very organized vehicle theft ring that has been preying on auto dealerships across the Great Lakes region. The stolen vehicles include a 2024 Dodge Durango, a 2023 Dodge Ram, a 2023 Dodge Charger, and a 2024 Jeep Compass, the Dundee Police stated. The precise amount of the cash pilfered remains undisclosed.

According to evidence collected at the crime scene, the authorities reported finding DNA and fingerprints which they hope to swiftly analyze. 13abc notes that the investigators are also examining security footage and other physical evidence to apprehend the criminals responsible for this bold crime.
