
Last Sunday, two suspects were nabbed, and a lethal array of weaponry and drugs were seized by the Springfield Police Department, an official report detailed. According to the Springfield Police Department, officers were summoned to the vicinity of Trafton Road to tackle a reported disturbance involving a firearm at approximately 4:45 p.m.
The two individuals, identified as Kenneth Latino and Anastasia Doucette were apprehended on the 300 block of Dickinson Street, where Latino was witnessed handing over a firearm to Doucette, which she promptly hid in her waistband but as officers moved in to apprehend Latino Doucette failed to comply immediately, leading to the gun falling out from her clothing. In addition to the firearm, Doucette was found carrying more firepower in her fanny pack, including two loaded firearm magazines, alongside an assemblage of narcotics encompassing 84 bags of heroin, Xanax, and an undisclosed quantity of cocaine.
Latino, a 27-year-old Springfield native with a history of firearm convictions, faces an extensive list of charges encompassing malicious damage to a motor vehicle, assault with a dangerous weapon, and numerous firearm and drug trafficking offenses. Doucette, the 20-year-old counterpart in this incident, has been charged with crimes including possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number during the commission of a felony and multiple drug-related offenses, among other allegations, the Springfield Police Department reported.
Both suspects remain in custody.
