In the early hours of Friday, an intersection in Houston's southeast side was the scene of a severe collision that left two people hospitalized. According to FOX26 Houston, the accident happened around 2:30 a.m. at the crossing of Chartres Street and McGowen Street, where a northbound white vehicle reportedly ran a red light and struck a red vehicle traveling westbound.

The impact was so great that the white car ended upside down. Both drivers, who were the sole occupants of their vehicles, needed to be taken rapidly to the hospital. The driver of the white vehicle is said to have sustained severe injuries, though details on their current condition remain scarce. 

ABC13 added to the narrative, detailing that Houston police are investigating if alcohol was a factor in the crash. The incident remains under investigation as authorities are trying to piece together the moments leading up to the collision.
