Chaos erupted in downtown Atlanta over the weekend as two men were shot hours apart on the same street, with one incident involving an exchange of gunfire between a security guard and a man who had allegedly fired shots into a business. The first shooting occurred on Saturday night around 10:34 p.m. at 248 Trinity Ave, a LAZ Parking lot, where a 47-year-old man was wounded during what police believe was a robbery, according to Atlanta News First.

The victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition, but suspects have not yet been identified as the investigation continues, the incident cast a grim shadow over the area, this area which would see more violence just a few hours later. At approximately 1:51 a.m. Sunday, police were called to another shooting at 255 Trinity Ave. SW, near the Monaco Hookah Lounge, where a different man was shot after reportedly being kicked out of a business and returning with a firearm to shoot into the building.

In response, a security guard at the location shot back, hitting the man, who was subsequently hospitalized and placed into custody, according to FOX 5 Atlanta. It remains unclear whether the security guard was employed by the hookah lounge itself, the police have yet to reveal the man's identity or the charges he might face as the case goes on.
