Veronica Sanchez is gearing up to take on the role of Human Resources Director for the City of Cibolo, Texas. She was chosen for the position after the city conducted a rigorous selection process with over a hundred applicants vying for the opportunity. According to a statement obtained by the City of Cibolo's official news release, her extensive experience was a significant factor in her selection, coupled with her proven leadership skills and seamless fit with the local culture. She is expected to assume her new duties on May 20.
The City of Cibolo is entrusting Ms. Sanchez the task of leading its People & Performance Department. In this capacity, she will manage various facets of workforce administration—ranging from hiring and training to employee engagement and performance appraisal. Moreover, her responsibilities will extend to overseeing the City’s Communications Program and the Performance Management Program (PMP).
Prior to this recent appointment, Sanchez has served the City of San Angelo since 2007, climbing the ranks from Human Resources Coordinator to Assistant Director of Human Resources and Civil Service Director. Her career boasts over 17 years dedicated to managing and nurturing personnel and programs. The honoree of San Angelo's 20 Under 40 award in 2015, Sanchez isn’t a stranger to recognizing and cultivating leadership within the community.

Ms. Sanchez, who received her Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management in 2023, holds several certifications that stamp her expertise including the Certified Public Manager and SHRM Certified Professional credentials. She looks toward the next goal in her academic journey, a graduate degree in Organizational Psychology and Human Resources, planned for completion in 2025 at Angelo State University.
