Earlier yesterday, a catastrophic collision on I-285 eastbound at Chamblee Dunwoody Road left one woman fighting for her life in the hospital. According to the Dunwoody Police Department, the incident occurred at about 2:54 a.m. when a white Ford Mustang slammed into the back of a dump truck.

The force of the impact was severe enough that the Mustang became wedged under the dump truck, the mangled vehicles skidding to a halt in the eastbound travel lanes. When officers arrived, they discovered critical conditions which the Mustang's driver, a 26-year-old female, was trapped in her vehicle.

Emergency response teams from Dekalb Fire and AMR worked frantically to extract the injured driver and began life-saving measures. The victim was then rushed to Grady Hospital, where, as per the Dunwoody Police Department's report, she is receiving treatment for life-threatening injuries.
