
In the early hours on the East Side of San Antonio, a high-speed collision led to a dire rescue scenario, with one woman trapped in the mangled remnants of her vehicle. The incident, occurring near Loop 410 and Rigsby Avenue, saw the woman's car violently strike an overhead highway sign pole around 3 a.m. Friday.
Local authorities have disclosed that the impact was so severe that it not only caused catastrophic damage to the car, leaving it nearly unrecognizable, but it also pinned the driver inside, necessitating a prompt and meticulous extraction. San Antonio firefighters, arriving at the scene, were forced to deftly use the Jaws of Life to cut the victim free from her steel trap.
FOX San Antonio reports that the victim was rushed to a local hospital suffering from a medley of injuries including a broken femur, facial wounds, and chest trauma. As of the last update, the current condition of the victim has not been disclosed.
The San Antonio Police Department has yet to release details regarding the potential cause of the accident or to publicly disclose if any other factors might have played a role in the crash.
